The medical specialty is dedicated to the diagnosis and medical treatment of adults. A physician who specializes in internal medicine is referred to as an internist. Subspecialties of internal medicine include allergy and immunology, cardiology (heart diseases), endocrinology (hormone disorders), hematology (blood disorders), infectious diseases, gastroenterology (diseases of the gut), nephrology (kidney diseases), oncology (cancer), pulmonology (lung disorders), and rheumatology (arthritis and musculoskeletal disorders).
Life-threatening emergencies, such as a heart attack or serious head injury, require a visit to the emergency room. An illness or injury that doesn't appear to be life-threatening but can't wait until the next day should be treated at an urgent care center.
These centers provide easy access to quality medical care when your primary care physicians' offices are closed. At Premier Valley Medical Group, as well as our Premier Valley Urgent Care Centers, our medical expertise and high commitment to personalized care ensure that patients with urgent health needs receive the best care day, night, weekends, and on most holidays.

Premier Diabetes and Weight Management Coaching is a One-On-One education and counseling service taught by Certified Diabetes Educators (CDE) and open to anybody whose weight loss may reduce their risk for, or symptoms of, Type 2 Diabetes. Insulin resistance makes it easier to gain weight, but whether or not you are taking insulin to manage your diabetes, weight loss may offer health benefits such as lower heart disease risk, improved blood sugar control, reduced blood pressure, and less stress on your bones and joints. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) person may reduce their risk of diabetes by as much as 58%, with only a 5 – 7% total weight loss. Weight loss can also improve insulin sensitivity, enhance vascular health, reduce the risk of stroke or heart attack and reduce inflammation to make your joints healthier.
The hardest step to take is the first one.
